"Had water leaking through bathroom ceiling light."

Had water leaking through bathroom light fitting nearly 2 weeks ago due to heavy rain. Got an emergency electrician out to switch off fuse for light and drain water from light cover to make safe. Electrician said he would report back to Novus with issue of water coming in through the roof space. Nearly 2 weeks later and still not heard from Novus in regards to leaking roof, all while our whole family is having to use the bathroom under torchlight. Called Home Group today as there is a big storm/ weather warning due for our area the next couple of days. The Customer Service advisor had no note of leaking roof or a follow up visit from Novus. I hope this storm isn’t as bad as they are saying or we might need to look out the wellies. Complete incompetence from this company again!!

UPDATE 01/11/23

Electrician turned up today to fit new bathroom light but the roof/roof space hasn’t been assessed yet. Leads me to think we might have another leak through the light. Complete lack of communication and ability to fix the route of the water leak. #incompetence

UPDATE 2

Rain came on again and yes the water started dripping through light fitting. Another emergency call to Home Group and to be fair the electrician from Novus came out straight away. He moved the light over a bit from where the water was coming in and left. The next visit was from a roofer to assess the roof space but no access due to firewall in attic! Next visit from scaffolding guys to look at putting up a single bay tower. Hopefully this will be the end of this before the real winter weather arrives.

UPDATE 3
20th January

Just to update again!!

Had a scaffold put up the back of our building but not much activity from any trades. This was the case for well over a month. We have had a visit from someone from the housing association to assess the damp/mould which is in most rooms. She went away and we haven’t heard back. The bathroom light fitting is still not back to where it should be either. The scaffold company returned to move the scaffold to the front of the building and we still haven’t been told what’s going on. In the meantime we still have a leaking bathroom ceiling, mould and water damage to most walls and window frames.

Let’s hope this is going to be resolved soon and possibly before the Summer.
