I've been a member for several years, SAL provides very useful advice on how to be a landlord, whether you are a person with one property or a company with a large portfolio. There is a dedicated phone line, online templates, regular training sessions, links to suppliers and trades. There are updates on regulations, so you are kept aware of changes.

I recently joined SAL because I had concerns about the contract I had just entered into with my new tenant. I called on a Monday morning and joined SAL over the phone. I was contacted within an hour by a very helpful adviser who remembered the details when I called back a couple of weeks later with a follow up query. I find all the staff to be polite, friendly and helpful, it is lovely to speak to a real person rather than a call centre. I have followed up the SAL recommendation of a BTL mortgage specialist who has also been very helpful. Just yesterday I had a customer relationship call from SAL to check I was aware of all the SAL membership benefits- again a very proactive approach and beneficial to me as a landlord. In summary, I would not hesitate to recommend SAL to anyone in the BTL business in Scotland.

SAL have been a lifeline for me. I'm trying to navigate a tricky housing case and their support has been incredible and invaluable. I can't recommend them strongly enough. They respond quickly and have time to talk you through issues over the phone. Their website is an amazing resource of easy to read, up to date guidance. I have excellent solicitors too but SAL have saved me a lot of money as I could ask them general questions about process and procedures without having to pay the solicitor to do the same.
Worth every single penny of the modest subscription fee.
