We are landlords in the private rental sector and members of SAL since 2006. The SAL website gives members unlimited access to training sessions, advice on upcoming legislation, detailing regulations we need to conform to, resources and provides documents, e-news, Landlord Focus magazine and informal online talks with other SAL landlords in our area. The business hours telephone helpline has been invaluable when we’ve had occasional tenant/lodger queries. Being kept up-to-date with Scottish Government legislation, parliamentary affairs and scheduled training dates has defined our Landlord responsibilities and gives us confidence we're conforming to statutory legislation. We as landlords have responsibilities as do tenants. In Scotland’s current political climate and the negative attitude towards Landlords in the private sector we need a voice and SAL is our much needed voice. Joining is a no-brainer - John Blackwood and the SAL team do a grand job - the annual membership is well worth the fee.
