"I don't recommend Elavon at all!"

I don't recommend Elavon at all!
Here's my story:

I have an online store for other businesses and I purchased a merchant account with Elavon for processing credit cards from our customers online. I don't know if it is Elavon Canada or Elavon US, but I believe they are the same. My account is with Elavono.com and the email I recently received recently is from "Elavon, Inc. 7301 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN".

They have done whatever security checks they wanted and asked an additional form from me, which I filled. They had set up the credit card processing for my business account and used it for several months. Although there was issues at times and we needed to refresh the page to go through, it was okay.

Then, right before running our campaigns to attract users, I received an email from them saying:
"Your account came up for a brief security review and unfortunately after reviewing the account I must say we will not be able to process for this business. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The account will be closed effective today"!!!!!

This was insane! They charged me set up fees, plus $48 CAD per month.
I sent an email and asked for clarification but did not received a response up to now. Later, when I called them and asked for the reason, they said they would not be able to tell me!

The customer service is unsatisfactory and disappointing. The service is unreliable.
They didn't reply to my email and I couldn't call them.
They messed up our plans for an internal reason that even they can't tell me.
If they cannot keep my account, they must refund all the money they charged me during these months, plus the set up fee. This is not including the damage to my business.

My experience with their service has been terrible. Due to them, my business suffered a lot and fell behind schedule.

I would not go close to any Elavon name in the world.

"Don't do business with Elavon, you'll regret it!"

They will hold your funds for no reason, Elavon Canada is no different, their main team is in Knoxville, TX and they will hold your money for no apparent reason.

These kind of businesses shouldn't be allowed in Canada as these make small business suffocate.

"Rude, Dismissive and Unprofessional"

I get calls from Elavon sales department sometimes 2 times a week.

I'm a busy entrepreneur so I don't usually waste precious time on petty tasks like leaving negative reviews so I hope that gives you some indication of the validity of my next statement.

The sales reps are Elavon are hands down the most unprofessional, rude and pushy type you can find.

I spent years as a travelling professional salesman. Had I ever interacted with my customers the way they do at this company I would have had doors slammed on my face and no way I could sleep at night.

Constant lies, rude, dismissive and absolutely no interest in your needs.

I'd gladly pay a higher rate to another company who treats its customers with respect and honesty and I'm sure I'm not alone.

"About the worst company anyone in this…"

About the worst company anyone in this world could actually deal with not one word of truth comes out of their mouth and impossible to contact anyone on the phone been waiting now for 15 days for someone to return my call I got trouble with one of my terminals a very hard crowd to contact

"I had a great experience with Elavon!"

I had a great experience with Elavon. The customer service is exceptional! My agent was Samantha Mohamed, what a pleasure to deal with her! She was prompt in answering Emails, friendly and respectful, very knowledgeable! Elavon has excellent prices and it is very easy to deal with! We had to close down the business and I regret not working with them anymore!

"This this even Legal?????"

Hello Mr. Walker,

I am reaching out to you today as I have no other option and I am extremely disgruntled after speaking with one of your employees who is representing your company.

We are small family run business. My company was using Elavon as our payment processor and due to the nature of our business which was phone services, our business together is no longer active.

Our account was closed 2 weeks ago which is fine, and we have since changed to paypal as our payment provider.

Elavon has held a large reserve of our money for refunds/chargebacks.

We have have 86 customers who need refunds, and Elavon is not allowing us to refund our customers which in turn is resulting in chargebacks.

Due to the inability to refund our customers Elavon is deliberating causing financial loses to our company, as there is a chargeback fee that we must pay.

I called your employee Jennifer Groover, and explained the situation to her, and please keep in mind not all people have paypal.

Her answer right away was:

"I'm not opening your account again to refund customers, it's a lot of work"

"It's your fault you haven't found a new processor yet, it's been two weeks"

I explained to her that not everyone has paypal, and her answer was simply I don't care and I'm not opening your account. You need to get your new payment process to repay these customers.

Once again please keep in mind not all customers have paypal and it is nearly impossible to find a new payment processor approved and ready to go in a span of two weeks.

Her tone was extremely rude and dismissive, and I really hope you record your employee's conversations as I sincerely hope she doesn't represent what your company stands for.

It is extremely unethical not allowing us to refund our customers. Elavon is deliberately allowing chargeback which is resulting in financial damages to us.

I really don't understand why a reserve is being held in place if we cannot use that to refund our customers?
