Had my Solidor fitted approx 2 months ago, all looked ok at first but I have since noticed that the fitter has built up the beading at the top, layering two pieces of beading on top of each other, not sure if he has measured it wrong but looks unsightly and amateur! The lock is also very stiff and sometimes sticks. Not impressed at all

Product looks great - ability to design your own door great - ask for a quote and they simply forget about you ! Terrible service - had to email them and ask again.... still took over a month to get a price ! And then it was ridiculously high !
A total shame

"So happy with the first, I now have two Solidors"

I first came across Solidor in 2014 whilst looking to replace my basic Upvc front door. I wanted a classic style that matched my Victorian property so opted for a black Ludlow from the traditional range. As soon as it was fitted I noticed the difference, it not only looks great provides the feeling of security that I did not have with the old door. I was so happy with my Solidor that I decided to change my back door as well. This time I went for a Solidor Beeston, again in black so that it matched the front. After reading up on Solidor I noticed that they were now offering a Ultion lock cylinder for added security so asked my installer to replace the one in my front door at the same time as installing the new back door.

Great looking doors with the added bonus of being incredibly secure.

Staff and family members have all had Solidor fitted to their homes and would not hesitate to recommend them.

"Wrong letterplate"

My wife and I decided to bite the bullet and invest in a sturdy, well insulated door, and were persuaded to go for the Solidor brand by a local installer. We spent hours using the online design function, carefully choosing paint colours, glass and door furniture options to meet our needs. We were nervous about moving away from a traditional wooden door in favour of a composite one, but Solidor appealed in its apparent ability to combine a wood-like effect with quality furniture.

When the door was installed, we immediately noticed that the letterplate wasn't the one we ordered. Instead of a traditional-looking hammered metal plate that was selected from their website (under the ironmongery range), there was a modern shiny black smooth plate with flaps on the outside and inside (couldn't have been further from the pictured example on their website!). In addition to this, the glass was far too heavily tinted and was blocking out almost all the light to our hall than had been suggested by the website and our installer. To top it off, the door was hanging unevenly, to the extent that there was a 4mm gap at the top of the join, and 1mm at the bottom - this meant that the door had to be opened with two hands from the outside and inside.

I raised these issues with my installer, who agreed with all my points and said he would pass on the concerns about the glass and letterplate to Solidor. I saw the response from Solidor (kindly forwarded to me by the installer) who acknowledged that the picture on the website is wrong, but that the one fitted in its place is 'the one we fit now' and that there was nothing they could/would do about it. Thankfully the fitter has offered to re-hang the door and replace the glass at his own expense, but absolutely no thanks to the appalling customer service offered by Solidor themselves.

I only wish I had read through the reviews of Solidor before selecting our door, as we have been left with one which has made a large dent in our bank balance but which looks cheap thanks to its flimsy, shiny furniture. Solidor need a few lessons in how to deliver good customer service and come running willingly to an unsatisfied customer rather than hiding behind their network of installers and shirking any form of responsibility. This issue was so easily rectifiable, but instead has left me knowing I will never order a Solidor product ever again.

"Bad attitude"

Nice door but read the small print! Door fitted and the protective film was left on as the render had to be done. After 30 days it apparently bakes itself to the face. An arrogant attitude from customer services expect you to replace the door slab even though they tell you this happens all the time! You would expect that a company thats tries to sell itself on quality would have sorted this problem at the manufacturing stage.
