Hard sell - very dubious sales practices - be warned!

My wife was sold £60 worth of 'tickets' for a birthday party for our 11 year old by 'XXXXX' (name of seller removed after complaint by IPG) at the Victoria Place shopping centre in Tunbridge Wells. Sounded too good to be true but she was told this was a special offer for a newly opened paintball centre.

Just came to write the invites for his birthday and called the number to book only to be told that the tickets were for admission and equipment hire only and that paintballs would cost extra. The 2,000 free paintballs she was given vouchers for were only for the last game and each player would need to pay £10 for 100 balls and subsequent balls would be £70 per 1000. I was told players would use around 400 balls so was looking at £620 just for paintballs.

So we thought maybe we could reduce the number of kids invited. Then came the next problem - the centre wasn't even open.

The seller told my wife the centre would definitely be open on the date of his party, that the only additional money to pay was £10 at the centre, that the free paintballs would be enough for all day.

When I asked for a refund guess what! They couldn't give me one.

'XXXXX' said whatever he had to to sell £60 worth of tickets including complete untruths. Avoid this company else get comfortable with the true cost before handing any money over. You will have more protection if you buy online rather than from their 'resellers'.

UPDATE: IPG are still selling in the Victoria Place shopping centre in Tunbridge Wells. I approached them to clarify whether they worked for IPG. The person initially told me they did though changed this to the official 'reseller' line they use to shield themselves from complaints when pressed. Trading Standards are aware of this company.

"Excellent experience"

This is the most excited and excellent gunshot game I have participated in. We bettle from dawn to dark since it is winter. After the bullets shower, we were totally exhaust. Indeed, you may get hurt by the bullets, like in the real bettle field. Don't be afraid, give it a go, challenge yourself and experience an excited adventure!

The services are very good, and it is not very expensive. You can also get tickets and paintballs free.

"AVOID. SCAMMERS.LIARS"

Agree with last review, sales people purposely mislead and cover up details when you sign the forms and literally tell you anything for the sale. I told the salesman that I had a minimum budget for a kids football team to play. Was told that the budget would easily cover the cost and that his manager had authorised 1000s of free paintballs for the kids with vouchers that he would not let me read. When trying to book was told that I needed to pay another £9.99 per player and that the paintballs offered for the kids were for one of the 8 games only and could not use them all on one visit. The 9.99 alone was over the budget straight away. Went to trading standards who insisted that I requested an instant refund for the deposit, but you have to wait 21 days which changes to 21 business days and customer services hide behind a non customer facing manager at a head office that have no phones. AVOID

They have finally agreed to refund and have sent a payment on a 3 day transaction back to my account, putting them well over the 21 days that they absolutely love to quote if you push them. Even though I quoted sales of goods act and that they purposely mislead they have still deducted a £5 admin fee and will not refund postage. I feel really sorry for a couple of their staff who have no idea about the scam being pulled, if they continue they won't even have a job! Use the online chat to get a response, cheaper than paying even more money on calls. AVOID AND GOOD LUCK TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN SCAMMED

"Scam - Avoid at all costs"

Took the money for the book of tickets @ £60

Tried to book for my sons birthday and they came up with all manner of clauses to extract hundreds of pounds in additional money to even turn up effectively putting you off booking. Eventually said they couldn't book it at all so my Sons 13th Birthday event was moved to just a pizza and bowling. Wasted £60 on a book of useless tickets.

THEN THE KICKER.
When my mobile phone bill came through it turns out that the booking number that they keep you chatting on is actually a premium rate number. Another ~£20 to call them and get refused.

All in all it is nothing but a complete con job, I suspect they don't even have anything other than a few event con artists selling books of nothing and no paintball centres at all, just a premium rate number.

"Best customer service I have ever received"

Possibly the best customer service I have ever received, from signing up for the tickets, to, phoning up to book the group, to the venue itself when we got there. Friendly, professional staff made the day brilliant, with clear instructions, and a well kept, clean venue.

The manager of the site was immensely helpful as we approached - I should mention that this was my groups first time paintballing - and gave us a very helpful breakdown of the game modes, the weapons, and the overall of the day.

The same can be said for the marshals during the games - fair and friendly. This made the games very enjoyable.

"I went paint-balling for the first time…"

I went paint-balling for the first time ever today at Delta Force Paintball and the experience was absolutely fantastic! The booking process was simple and efficient. The location was easy to find and the facilities were spotless (bathroom etc.). Upon arrival we were greeted enthusiastically and after signing waivers and getting our gear (overalls, masks and 'guns') we were directed to the cafeteria where we were able to order lunch for later on in the day.

There are six different courses available and each is completely different, offering variety and hours of exciting game-play. Our marshals (Chris and Rich) were supportive and enthusiastic while ensuring that all players were safe and most importantly enjoyed their day. The customer service standards I experienced at Delta Force were nothing short of excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys!

I would highly recommend this experience for anything from team building activities corporate events to children's birthday parties. I will definitely be going again!

"Great day out! Can’t wait to go again!"

For my sons 14th birthday we decided to go paint balling at Cobham. On arrival we were greeted by the staff who all seemed very pleasant and helpful. They talked us through how the day would progress and answered all of our questions. Once kitted out and briefed on safety the fun began. We spent eight hours over several mazes playing both as attacking and defending teams with various objectives to win the games. After each match a ten minute break to catch your breath before moving on to the next match! A 30 minute break for lunch in which you could have pizza (ordered earlier in the day) before resuming the action. The day overall was brilliant! My son enjoyed it so much he’s begging to go again - I don’t blame him as I really enjoyed it too! The mazes were good fun from a Star Wars scenario to then battling it out in London city with Big Ben and double decker buses! The staff were all brilliant and I couldn’t thank them enough for making it a great day out! I know some people say it can be expensive - however you get what you pay for! All in all it was one of the most fun days out! A really great day from start to finish. Both my son and myself highly recommend you try this and know we will be going back soon!

"Awful"

Awful. Stay clear of this company. I tried to refund tickets, on tickets it says you can get a refund up to 14 days after your purchase. Then when you actually contact "IPG" they say you only have 7 days after the purchase to post back tickets with relevant card details in order to get a refund. Not only is 7 days a ridiculously short timeframe for returning something via post, it is also against the law not to allow a minimum of 14 days after purchase (I have checked). The salesman had even circled the 14 day refund time and expressly highlighted to me that I would have 14 days. My second issue is that on the refund form which you have to post to them (with tracked delivery) it requests certain card details in order to refund a credit or debit purchase, these include various sensitive card details that a company does not require and should never ask for in order to process a refund. On top of this they also state on the refund form that they charge a £5 administrative fee for carrying out the refund which is frankly ridiculous.
