"High quality ISP, some minor local initial setup problems but good customer service."
Viewqwest is a high quality ISP and the speeds are fast with only one outage experience since I signed up, yet that was resolved quickly. I had some minor initial setup problems when configuring at home to use my personal router but the customer support was helpful and quick at getting back to me. Would recommend Viewqwest to provide more information at installation with details on how to set up your own personal router as well as instructions for using the VPN.

I signed up in May 2012 for a monthly Fibernet 200 contract and have so far been very satisfied with the following services:
1. the consistent speed for what I have contracted for. This is a First for Singapore's Internet Service Provider.
2. really swift technical responses. VQ have responded swiftly to all my queries. They do not just answer my question, they actually address my problems (which range from VQ's specific technical issues and totally non VQ issues ie. Dlink router issues, port forwarding issues etc).
Not having to call various providers to iron out my connectivity concerns makes a truly pleasant experience. Another First.
3. free Static IP. I didn't expect to be a free static IP port of my own in Singapore. I have always wondered why there isn't any forward looking ISP who would provide static IPs as a norm instead of treating it as a revenue stream.
I am really pleased that VQ made such a provision shortly after I signed up. This offering makes all the difference to our internet-connected city. Another First for VQ.
4. Additional services - I am happy to note that VQ have rolled out services like VPN and testing Usenet services. This really makes our internet experience so much more open and inclusive.
WELL DONE! Finally, a truly enjoyable Internet experience in Singapore.
I hope VQ will continue to provide customers with the same level of quality service. Most of all, that VQ will continue to operate in the business model that show that they are interested in what the customer needs, and not just how much money they can make.
I am certain that would automatically come about with the great service they provide.

"Digital voice number porting not fulfilled"
I was told at the point of signing up in June for the Residential Fibernet service, that my existing digital voice number from Starhub could be ported over in July. However, this was not fulfilled and that there is no specific date when this will be possible.

"Good offerings and good price but bandwidth can be slow at times"
I bought a package with a supposed dedicated line to the home thus eliminating or at least minimising the drops in bandwidth at busy times. I'm afraid that's not how it works at times. Sometimes the bandwidth is worse than the old broadband (ie: prior to fibre)

I was with two of the large ISPs and they could not deliver, even marginally. Their helplines were cold and uninformed at best, quick to blame the target sites for the painfully slow speeds.
Finally gave up and tried Viewquest. Speeds are 70% there during peak hours, through the roof on off peak. Aftersales is personal and warm, they do take pride in solving issues. The forum for highlighting issues was a great idea.
Glad I switched.

"Flashy marketing-Limp delivery"
It was a convincing and flashy sales presentation
Actual fact is that the' Outsourced Technician' just fitted the wireless router,Tested the connection and was gone in a flash...
Called emailed Custome Service to hardwire the apartment as signal was weak-promptly said we don't do-speak to our 'contractor..' directly..
After they hardwired @160/- per room,tested connection..
then they were gone in a flash!!
Nowt-two rooms not getting signal-So I had to buy Repeater,I had to get from Sim Lim,the Tech Support ran me through once,call gets disconnect-not bothered to call back..
Had to repeat process,new chap,had to start all over again..
Still signal is weak-Now still happier with good old ADSL-2Mbs
Absolutely Lousy follow up-only like to sell the package-not bothered with customer support..
The signal does not travel very far..
