"Excellent service received"

Such helpful customer service received by the team when signing up and throughout the whole application progress. They couldn't have helped any more if they tried! Will definitely be recommending Co-wheels to my friends and family.

"Go Go Co Wheels!"

I have been a member of Co-Wheels for 2 years. I have rented cars and vans on numerous occasions. I find the vans particularly good value and on the 2 occasions I have needed to use their customer service (once I was struggling to get into the vehicle using my card but it was a quick work around and once the car I had booked had a flat battery) the answer has been prompt and the people friendly and helpful. There are plenty of cars within a couple of miles where I live so I have never had a problem with availability or with the van which is a short bus ride away. Hats off to Co-Wheels for all they are doing to reduce car ownership

"Great service and alternative to mainstream providers"

I have used several similar services in the past, such as GetAround and Zip. What Co-wheels lacks in tech (a clunky app) it more than makes up for in terms of customer service, competitive price, availability of cars/vans, and so on. It's also great to support a social enterprise, and one that has a lot of electric/low emission cars in its fleet

"Great Member Support"

I joined Co-Wheels Car Club about a month ago, and throughout the entire process the team was extremely helpful, replying to my queries promptly and clearly.

So far I've only rented a car with Co-Wheels once, but it was in good condition and worked fine.

"Confident in Co-Wheels after scrapping our car"

We scrapped our car at the start of the first lockdown and use Co-Wheels now for essential journeys. This week we hired a car to collect our student teacher son and bring him home so he did not need to travel on a packed train. Took the stress out of the day... It was fairly unremarkable except that as I finally left the car and walked home I thought how great it is when things just work as they are supposed to. The car was where it was supposed ot be. It had been wiped down, had petrol and was in good working order. We filled up on the way home using the card provided and that worked too! My experience in the past of ringing Co-Wheels has been friendly and helpful staff. Recommended.
I would agree with another poster who suggested that the confirmation email could contain information specific to the car (how to start it, open the filler cap boot etc.)

"I've been using Co-wheels now for a…"

I've been using Co-wheels now for a number of years. I use the cars for my work which is conducting funerals. Sometimes time is tight and I admit to occasionally being panicky in the past if there has been a problem...but they have always been extremely patient and kind and have resolved any problems quickly and efficiently. Compared with another company I tried to use which is closer to home; they are amazingly efficient and courteous, so much so, that I now routinely journey from Brighton to Lewes to use the service! Excellent.

"Worst customer experience I've ever had"

Co wheels have to be the most unorganised company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We have had a problem almost every single time we have used them. Today we were left in the street for over an hour with a young child in freezing Scottish temperatures because the previous user never returned the car. Eventually Co wheels gave up and cancelled our booking ending our plans. Aside from that you will show up to the car with dead batteries, no fuel, absolutely disgusting interiors and sometimes, like tonight, no car at all! Co wheels are directly marketing this as an alternative to your vehicle but that couldn't be further from the truth. Co wheels expect you to keep to thier rules and if you don't they will charge you, but if they ever don't keep to thier side of the bargain you will be left in the lurch and there's nothing you the customer can do about IT. We will be contacting management tomorrow. STAY CLEAR YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

"Joining Co-Wheels Car…"

I have recently joined Co-Wheels Car Club (Norfolk), as I now bike most of the time, but there are occasions when I would like to have a car available.
I looked at the costs of actually owning a fairly new car and when I factored in depreciation, it became quite expensive.
There are several vehicles within a 2 mile radius of where I live and even if I want to hire a car at short notice, I'm sure one of them would be available.
I had a query on my application and it was dealt with very promptly.

"very good in general but better instructions would help"

I use Co-wheels when I have the occasional need for a car, since I don't own one (and don't want to own one). It is a very good idea and so far the car has always been where expected and in good condition. It would help to have another car in the near vicinity, because sometimes there isn't one available when I need it.

Yesterday I wrote some comments by email, which have mostly been answered - thanks - but since you asked me to comment on Trustpilot, I repeat the remainder here.

I understand that for new vehicles you don't need to use the onboard computer to end the booking. This is a change I wasn't aware of. I suggest that you replace the sticky label on the dashboard that says you should use the onboard computer for managing bookings if that's not true - it's confusing, especially as I couldn't find the onboard computer!

I also suggest it would be useful if in the automatic email to confirm a booking you would send some essential info specific to the vehicle, such as whether it has an onboard computer (and if so where it is), whether the car is automatic or manual, how to start it, and how to operate the "handbrake" (in case it is an electric manual brake rather than a "traditional" handbrake). It used to be obvious how to operate a car, because they were all the same, but these days they're getting more diverse, and it's annoying if you can't work out something basic about driving.
