"Damp proof"

Dan and Paul were good workers and tidied up after themselves they were polite and friendly but got on with the job. I CAN NOT find one fault with the job. Thanks

"ARROGANT ATTITUDE"

Was contacted by this company (based in the South) via MyBuilder website and when I said I wanted someone more local they had the gall to tell me that local builders would not cover me if something went wrong or they went bust !! .... typical attitude from someone trying to pull the wool over customers eyes.

Im not saying they are good or bad at what they do ... but certainly arrogant and intimidating. I wont be using them.

Utter nonsense ... firstly I never mentioned 'price' let alone a 'cheap price' .... and even if it was 'cheaper' ... how can you say it is inferior ... a local one man band has lower overheads, may not be VAT registered, may have many more years of experience (that you Adam seemed to lie about your company - he said 13 years when youve only been incorporated since 2019) ...

I did contact 'My Builder' and I had a flurry of responses ... so I politely asked if you were Local .... as regardless, I do like to support the Local Economy and Tradesmen .... Im near Doncaster you are Poole i believe.

He then went into this otally unjustified tirade abusing Local and Smaller businesses and trying to put in a wedge of concern if they 'went under' .... this is OUTRAGEOUS.

What happens if YOUR company goes bankrupt or into voluntary liquidation ... it looks like there is a Share Capital of £120 if I am right .. so there is a limited liability ... How you dare you suggest a contractor may 'dissapear' or even that issues may arise ? or to say the work would not be 'up to standard' ... !! You also dont know if any Contractors I contacted or was going to contact were major companies or sole traders (or as you call them as a derogatory term - one man band).

This job is basically drilling a number of holes and squirting in a liquid ... its hardly rocket science. ... so surely you would expect that there are local companies that can carry out this work AND have experience !!

My reaction was NOT over the top as this was bullying, worrying high pressure sales technique and older people could believe this utter nonsense .... so I decided to Call you Out.

OK ... I tell you what , I will give you a chance to show me how professional you are, if you really are quality .... call round, give me a quote, explain your products, specification and work guarantee (and who it is covered by?) and we will take it from there.

Warning: This company engages in misleading practices, offering unnecessary services such as damp-proofing.
Two years ago, I had damp-proofing work done on my dining room wall and bay window. Recently, I noticed paint peeling near the bay window, and my contractor suggested it was likely due to condensation. Seeking a second opinion, I contacted Home Building & Surveying. Mr. M. Cross visited and employed high-pressure sales tactics, recommending extensive and costly work, including injecting the ground floor with Secumur for £20,680. According to him, the dining room wall required tanking to prevent penetrating damp, and the sitting room bay window had rising damp.
However, I hired an independent damp surveyor who confirmed that the peeling paint was caused by condensation, not damp, and that the damp-proofing work originally completed by my contractor was still intact and effective.
Be cautious when dealing with this company, as their services may not be necessary.
