"Not functioning as designed"

The installer was missing a piece for the storm door so it really isn't working as a storm door. Also it was supposed to be keyed to my front door which it isn't and the installer couldn't fix it.
I called and the lady said she would have someone call me at their convenience - hopefully today. When said that I have a short time frame before I go to my summer house she asked if I couldn't have someone else there. I want to be here when work is done on my house so I said no. I have no idea what the resolution will be.

"Thompson Creek installed our siding, windows, and patio door"

Thompson Creek installed our siding, trim, 12 windows, and a patio door about 10 yrs ago. We paid a premium since they are local and offered a lifetime warranty. The quality of their products is good. However their service is poor and such a pain that we would not use or recommend them again. We have needed damaged siding repaired a couple times, window screens replaced, and caulking. Each time we've called required a wait on hold 20-30 min. and multiple follow-up calls for service requests. It's difficult to get a response via email. They will send out someone to take photos for service, and then not follow-up or share the photos with staff responsible for the work. They will arrive with the wrong pieces. They will send someone inexperienced with siding to repair siding. They also informed us about a year ago that they no longer use the siding or door installed and the products are no longer covered by the warranty.

"I have placed numerous phone calls to…"

I have placed numerous phone calls to repair damage caused by the gutter system installed by Thompson Creek. I have not received a promised return phone call after meeting and discussing the matter in person with the project manager. I was told the service department would call me the next day. It has now been over three weeks, numerous phone calls, and still no support. I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service.

"Vast Disappointment"

Looking to replace four windows, in May of 2022 I chose Thompson Creek. I must say Thompson Creek have very good salespeople.
At the time of sale, I was asked if I wanted half or whole screens after being informed the windows opened at the top and at the bottom, I chose the half screens.
I received the windows August 11th. I like opening the windows at night and felt secure being it was from the top. Several mornings when I opened the bedroom curtains the screen had falling leaving my home open to any outdoor elements. At some point insects begin getting into the house with the window being open. I called several times trying to get assistance with this matter and found it difficult to reach someone. Finally, a representative, John, came and informed me the half screens were designed for the bottom half of the window due to the lack of seals, having no bottom seal they are unable to be used at the top. I expressed my disappointment that I would have selected the other option. The gentlemen stated he would make notes of the situation and the company usually gives compensation. Start calling the company in December, could not get a response. It took a letter written in March 2023 to the Baltimore office before I received a call and then was charged $145 to take the replacement order. Thinking I would be monetary compensated for misinformed or lack of information our business was finished. Received the replacement screens May 10th and was asked did I want to keep the half screens (my thought I paid for them).
In June I started receiving calls concerning an amount that needed to be paid, an additional 350 plus dollar amount. When asked why so much I was told the prices increased from last year.
Since the replacements there have been flies and other insects that have gotten pass the screen.
I was not going to write a review until today July 18th when I opened the curtains in my office, there was this big spider with a mate or a spider that had been killed that had gotten passed the screen. My fear was had the window been opened those spiders would have been my house.
Let me tell you this…
The windows are of bad quality, mold accumulates at the bottom of the window due to moisture. In addition to the windows are overpriced.
I would have rather paid a higher premium and received quality windows that met what I wanted to accomplish which was to keep elements out of my home when I open the windows.
You’ve been warned!

"Don't trust Thompson Creek Window Company"

It has been (2) months since Thompson Creek took my deposit money. They have missed appointments, not responded to emails and what they did produce in an email was nothing even close to what they quoted. They stood in my rental property, measured and discussed the project, then sent pictures of what they intended to do that weren't even close to the actual windows and doors they physically looked at when at the property with me! How could a company be so incompetent? They are using the consumer. They are lying to the consumer. Their customers are victims of their greed. On November 9, 2022, they reviewed the project-on site. I told them it was a rental property and the project must be completed in December. As of today, January 9,2023, I have a tenant and that tenant is not amenable to the disturbance of contractors. When I signed the lease with the the tenant, I immediately sent an email to Thompson Creek, to the attention of Connor Kelley, who is supposed to be an Asst. Sales Mgr. The email stated that the job could not be completed. Mr. Kelley knows the wrong doing of Thompson Creek on this project. I requested my deposit back and have heard nothing. I expect this will end up in front of the judge, beginning of course with my lawyer. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THOMPSON CREEK. THEY HAVE NO INTEGRITY AND WILL RIP A CONSUMER OFF IN A HEARTBEAT!

"NEVER again."

We originally purchased our front door replacement from them many years ago, so I thought I would give them a shot at a door that separates the house from the garage - BIG MISTAKE!!!! It took over 11 months and MANY visits to get this installed. They did install a door AND left me an Allen wrench so I could adjust it, but failed to provide any instructions on HOW to do it - nothing I do seems to work. I left feedback and asked HOW to do this, but NOTHING.

Update October 2022. Well they wrote a reply here and called, but did NOT leave ANY message. My wife answered the phone, but ZERO response.
I am SO impressed.
Such GREAT service - NOT.

"Get things in writing.."

We purchased 30 windows, the windows were promised in January, they arrived in January but were the wrong size, the windows were measured incorrectly, they were suppose to he reorder priority. I called in March and the windows were just ordered in March, not January like I was told. They promised me they would adjust our price to offset the inconveniences. The windows weren't installed until May. After the windows were installed they presented me with an invoice over $60,000 when they finished. I anticipated an invoice less than $30k and was hoping they'd reduce that based on conversations with the project manager. The project manager was out the day of the installation but the billing people were able to correct the invoice to our originally agreed upon invoice but made no adjustments for our inconvenience. The technician insisted he was to be paid the balance. We paid the balance and I called the project manager when she returned. After spending an hour on the phone with her she agreed to send me a check for $410, less than 1% of the total cost. Please don't believe a word unless its in writing. They continually lied and misled me.

"They love you until you sign, then they are just a lifeless phone operator"

If I could go lower than one star I would. I began the process of new sliders and windows in October. Prior to my virtual appointment, I downloaded and installed an app that takes pictures and converts them to rough measurements. It made that appointment pretty easy. So far so good.

My wife called a few days later to pay our project in full and received a receipt stating paid in full. (IOT to get points prior to vacation). At some point, actual measurements were taken onsite and an install date in Dec were established.

Original install date resulted in one door completely the wrong size. 8" or so. I get it, maybe the measurer fat-finger the number. A field supervisor came out and remeasured, a new date (4-weeks) and a new door were ordered.

Second install was cancelled due to crew unavailability. It was cancelled about 20 minutes before they were to arrive.

Third install resulted in the same mismeasured door. Four more weeks or so and another new door ordered.

Fourth install was finally successful. I get that mistakes happen but this is supposed to be an industry leader in doors and windows and to make the same mistake multiple times seems amateurish.

All along the way, install crews and field supervisors all processed that the project coordination team would take care of us with a rebate or a credit.

So we are now complete and calls with the project coordination team (PCT) were insulting. They offered $75 per screw-up despite the frustration and the missed work for 4 install attempts. Absolutely insulting!

At that time, the PCT team also said they misplaced my deposit and could I help find it. We also negotiated a more acceptable credit/rebate which was beyond what my POC could authorize. So we played phone tag until we both gave up. At this point, I relegated that I just wanted the project to be done and that even with a credit, we were unlikely to use Thompson Creek again.

Now two months after that (9 moths after staring this slog), I am getting new harassing calls about the "missing" down payment despite each of my work-orders showing paid in full, a receipt showing paid in full and a contract showing a down payment.

Thompson Creek does not care about you. They do not care about your house. They only want to line their pockets and deeply as they can. Figure that most windows/door replacements should last for several years, they are relying on taking you to the bank upfront versus respecting you as a client and/or building a relationship.

My boss used Replacement by Anderson. Use that company or use Window World or some other company. DO NOT USE THOMPSON CREEK and if you do, buyer beware.

"21 April 2022"

21 April 2022: I called today for service on my windows that Thompson Creek installed less than 10 years ago, with a lifetime warranty. Thompson Creek have not returned my calls as promised on 3 separate occasions, as recent as today, the call was dropped and they refused to answer the phone. The previous phone call was made on Thursday 14 April 2022, The answering service promised some one will return a call on Friday, not later than Monday 18 April. I have not received a call back. This is the 5th time requesting help.
