"Jumping through hoops"
After a disastrous cruise on which my wife suffered heart problems, we worked with Aon to try to recover our travel expenses. Aon required me to jump through several hoops; I understand that they require certain information, but it shouldn't be THAT difficult to submit a claim.
Despite the difficulties, the Aon customer support was excellent. Whenever I had a question, they were quick and friendly with the answers I needed.
I was satisfied with the outcome of the claim.

We recently had to cancel a cruise and was very thankful we had insurance with AON. The claim filing process was easy and uploading the required documents was simple. The claim was processed extremely fast and payment was just as fast. We will continue to purchase our travel insurance through AON.

I especially liked how easy it was to navigate the website..., but when necessary, there was always a helpful 'human' person to contact. I am 79 and if I say it was easy, then surely it is.

We had to cancel our cruise due to illness.
The online claim process was very unsettling a bit difficult to navigate. At one point I tried to correct a mistake and was forced to start over. The second attempt failed to send. Third time success.
Once submitted the waiting period was difficult to endure as there was no information until the final notice of approval or denial.
The 5 stars was for the refund we received.

Because my husband ended up needing open heart surgery 4 weeks before our planned cruise we needed to cancel. I downloaded the forms needed and had them filled out by his doctors. Placing the claim was easy and completed within 2 weeks. I chose to have physical checks sent which took another week, so the entire process took less than a month.

"Protecting Yourself Should be Easy"
Insurance should protect you from unexpected expenses that are not your fault. My travel coverage was "secondary" so I struggled for over one year to get my primary insurance to provide documentation that they would not cover my claim (because I had not met my deductible). Once I finally got my "primary" insurance to provide the documentation, Aon reimbursed me for a $1200 bill within a couple weeks. I couldn't be happier!
